About Don Horton

Don Horton brings more than four decades of construction, permitting, property management, and community leadership experience to Florida Keys real estate. A Plantation Key resident since 1977, he holds a degree in Construction Management and has served as a contractor, construction manager, building official, plans examiner, inspector, code consultant, and owner's representative. His experience spans custom waterfront homes, private estates, marinas, restaurants, condominiums, commercial properties, zoning, land use, permitting, and redevelopment.

As owner of Island Construction Management Inc. and D Horton Construction LLC, Don offers clients a practical understanding of property value, construction quality, code compliance, and development potential. He served Monroe County and Islamorada in senior building roles, has been recognized as an expert in construction, permitting, codes, and planning, and was elected to the Islamorada Village Council in 2024. Don combines deep local knowledge with straightforward guidance to help buyers, sellers, and investors make informed real estate decisions with confidence.
